Emilio Pucci is one of my favourite designers and every single dress is a work of art. His colours and prints are mixed with a masterful hand and when you get a good piece of Pucci it tends to be a piece that you can wear for a lifetime. This one is gorgeous with its bright fuchsia colourway and print. I love it.
The dress is made out of one of his signature lightweight silk jerseys and this was a fabric that he preferred because of the way it moved and held colour. It is screened with one of his custom prints that he has laid out onto the fabric in a very deliberate way to highlight the cut and line of these dresses. This one is the prettiest combination of a deep fuchsia mixed with purples and blues that cover the dress from head to toe. The colours are all mixed into a geometric print that has long triangles exploding out and around a large print that is so pretty and fresh feeling. The sleeves are long and cuffed so that they pouf out slightly over the cuffs once on. The bodice is cut to skim over the bust with a high scooped neckline. It falls past the waist and skims over the hips and this gives it an easy feel that I love. As it nears the hem it widens out out a touch for a slight flare. The cut and fabric allow it to not be super fitted but still highlight the body underneath. The colour mix is gorgeous. That gorgeous deep pink is mixed with all the other colours to create the design that you see and if you love it in the photos it is even better in person. One of the signatures on his pieces are those bands of a contrasting print and on this dress he used that to define the neckline, the cuffs and around the bottom hem. A double band of that print is also set to run down the full length of the back of the dress. The entire dress weighs ounces. Excellent condition with a minor note below
Unlined and closes with a back painted metal zipper. Tagged a vintage Pucci 10. The fabric is a silk jersey and does have some stretch. I have given the comfortable measurements laying flat. I see one faint and tiny spot and the very faintest of marks under one arm on this one. Please see the photos after the label shot. Hand finished throughout.
